1 – What is TWEAK!?
TWEAK! is a dynamic, fun card game that puts players’ mental agility to the test in a really entertaining way.
Each player’s goal is to form card combinations that, when added up, match a “Target Sum”, which changes every turn.
During the round, players compete to win the highest-value cards while trying to get hold of special TWEAK! [T!] cards, which let them change the course of the game to their advantage.
Beyond mental agility, the game calls for strategy, observation and the ability to adapt.
2 – Basic information

Players: 2 to 6
Recommended age: 8 and up
Duration: 20 minutes
Not suitable for children under 3
3 – Game components
The TWEAK! game is made up of 72 cards, divided into three types: number cards, TWEAK! cards and one special Target Sum card.
Number cards (54 in total)
They come in 6 colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
Each colour contains: two “1” cards, two “2” cards, two “3” cards, one “4” card, one “5” card and one “6” card
The front of the cards shows a value (from 1 to 6), used to form addition combinations.

The black back shows a number from 7 to 10, which represents the Target Sum to reach each turn.

TWEAK! [T!] cards (17 in total)
These cards let you temporarily change the rules and add a key tactical element to the game. They are shuffled separately and placed in a face-down pile on the table.
A player can win a [T!] card if they manage to use all the cards on the table during their turn while reaching the Target Sum. This play is called “making a TWEAK!” and counts as a clean sweep in the game.
The section “Types of TWEAK! [T!] cards and their effects” explains how each one works.
The [T!] card pile includes:

- 5 The Thief cards
- 5 The Joker (±1) cards
- 5 Change Target cards
- 2 The Bomb cards
Special blue card (1 in total)

It has the number 7 printed on both sides. It is placed at the bottom of the Central Deck before the round begins. Its job is to remind you that, once the deck runs out, the Target Sum will always be 7 until the end of the round. This card stays on the table at all times and cannot be stolen or played.
4 – Setup
Each round a different player deals: the one to the right of whoever dealt the previous round. For the first round, the dealer is chosen at random.

The [T!] cards are shuffled separately and placed face down on one side of the table.
The special blue card, with the number 7 printed on both faces, is placed on the opposite side of the table.
The number cards are shuffled and 3 cards are dealt to each player. Next, 2 cards are placed face up in the centre of the table. The remaining cards, with the black back facing up, are placed on top of the special blue card, forming the Central Deck.
5 – The turn
Make the Sum: The player uses a card from their hand, combining it with others on the table to reach the Target Sum. The Target Sum is set by the visible number on the top card of the Deck. Once the deck runs out, the Target Sum will always be 7, as indicated by the special blue card we placed at the bottom of the Deck, which will always stay on the table. If the player has won a [T!] card during the round, they may use one on their turn to help reach the Target Sum.
Call out the Sum: If a Target Sum is achieved, the player must say it out loud (for example: “1 plus 3 is 4, plus 2 is 6, plus 3 is 9”) so the other players can validate the combination. The combined cards are won by the player, who keeps them face down to count their points at the end of the round.
Winning a TWEAK! card: If the player combines one of their cards with all the cards on the table and leaves none, they must say “TWEAK!” out loud. This way, they win a [T!] action card, which they keep on the table face up and visible, and can play in following turns.
If they can’t add up: If the player can’t form a Target Sum, they must place one of their cards on the table. You must always play a card every turn. It’s best to discard a card that’s less useful to your opponents.
Ending the turn: At the end of their turn, the player always draws cards until they have 3 in hand. If the player has made a “TWEAK!” and left the table with no combinable cards, they must draw 2 cards from the Deck onto the table so the next player can play. If the Deck runs out during this process, you always refill the player’s hand first and then the table. If there aren’t enough cards, you continue with whatever has been refilled at the moment they run out.
6 – End of the round
The round ends when the Central Deck has been completely used up and all players, after playing their final turns one by one, have run out of cards in hand.
Important: you must keep playing the round until all players have run out of cards in hand.
Any cards left on the table that can’t form valid combinations are discarded and score no points for any player.
Once the round is over, each player takes their pile of won cards (the ones kept face down) and adds up all the points shown in the top-right corner of each card.

| Type of card | Value |
|---|---|
| Standard number cards | 1 point |
| TWEAK! [T!] cards | 2 points |
| Red cards | 3 points |
| Cards with the number 5 (not red) | 4 points |
| Red 5 card | 5 points |
7 – End of the game
TWEAK! is played over several rounds. After each one, the points each player scored are noted down. The game ends when a player reaches or passes the score matching the number of players:
| Number of players | Points to win |
|---|---|
| 2 players | 140 points |
| 3 players | 120 points |
| 4 players | 100 points |
| 5 players | 80 points |
| 6 players | 60 points |
8 – Types of TWEAK! [T!] cards and their effects

- The Thief (Steal from another player): Lets you steal a random card from another player’s hand and place it on the table. The player who was robbed will play with one card fewer on their next turn.
- The Joker (the ±1 wildcard): Changes the Target Sum by +1 or -1, at the discretion of the player using it.
- Change Target: Lets you take the top card of the Central Deck (the one marking the Target Sum), place it on the table as a playable card and move on to a new Target Sum card.
- The Bomb: Forces all the other players to put a card from their hand on the table. On the next turn, those players will play with one card fewer.
9 – Play clarifications
If a player leaves on the table a card that could form a valid combination but doesn’t claim it, they lose the chance and the turn continues. No other player may claim that combination.
If, during a round, a player loses their 3 cards because of [T!] cards like The Bomb or The Thief played by other players, they will lose their next turn as they have no cards to play. However, they must refill their hand to 3 cards before passing the turn to the next player.
Always respect the order of actions:
- First, the cards in the hand are refilled,
- Finally, the cards on the table are refilled.
If there aren’t enough cards, you refill as far as they go and the turn passes to the next player.
When the Central Deck runs out, play continues with Target Sum = 7, as the special blue card left visible on the table reminds you, until the end of the round and until all players have used up their cards one by one.
If a player runs out of cards in hand but still has unused [T!] cards, they can no longer play them. However, they can still add up their points at the end of the round along with the other cards they’ve won.
10 – Frequently asked questions
– What happens when the Central Deck runs out of cards?
When the Central Deck runs out of cards, the game continues as normal, but two important changes apply:
Fixed Target: The Target Sum will always be 7, as the blue card indicates. This means players must keep playing their cards to reach exactly this value.
No Refilling: Players no longer draw cards to refill their hand. They must play only with the cards they already have.
The rest of the rules stay the same. Players carry on, turn by turn, combining sums and playing their [T!] cards until everyone runs out of cards in hand.
– Can you use several TWEAK! [T!] cards at the same time?
No, you can only play one [T!] card per turn.
– Who wins the cards left uncombined in the last trick?
Nobody. The cards that couldn't be combined at the end of the round are discarded and score no points for any player.
– The cards you steal with a [T!] — do you keep them or do you have to put them on the table?
[T!] cards are designed to improve your chances of combining a sum on the table. The card you steal with The Thief (Steal from another player), the cards every player has to discard with The Bomb, and the target card you take from the deck with Change Target all go on the TABLE, and then you try to make a valid combination.
– What happens at the end of the round with the [T!] cards you haven't used?
Unused [T!] cards are added to the cards you've won to count your points at the end of the round. Each TWEAK! won is worth 2 points, whether it was used or not. That's why, whenever you can, you should try to take all the cards on the table to make a "TWEAK!".
– How do you write and pronounce TWEAK!?
It's written TWEAK!, in capitals and with the exclamation mark. It's pronounced "tweek", in a single syllable, rhyming with "week" and "peak". People often spell it tweek, twik or tweack: if you search for "tweek card game" or "twik card game", the game you're looking for is TWEAK!.
